Let me say something about myself. I am V.K. Rajagopalan from New Delhi, India. I am married and have two teenaged boys.

I have a Management Degree in Marketing and a Post Graduate Degree in Finance. I also have several other qualifications and certifications in various areas of IT, SAP, etc.

I have about 30 years of work experience. Out of that, I have been in Finance for about 10 years and about 20 odd years I have spent in IT. I have vast experience right from finance to programming, networking and systems analysis to a consultant, project & program management and a pre-sales professional. I have had the opportunity to hold senior managerial positions in different organizations and in various capacities.

I also have experience and a flair for people management and all about HR practices. I have a very good reputation as being an excellent people manager.

Even though I am not a medical practitioner, I had been wanting to create a website on Diabetes for the following reasons:

1. My son, when he was 13 years old, was diagnosed with Juvenile Diabetes and he has been insulin dependent ever since. Later, I also got Type II Diabetes. I am not insulin dependent but controlling it with medicine, diet and exercises.
2. Since I have experienced both type of Diabetes in our family, I have developed a fairly good knowledge about how to tackle the incidence and impact of diabetes, both physiological as well as psychological.
3. I found out that people have lot of misconceptions about Diabetes, its treatment and control. I wanted to educate these people using our knowledge and experience.
4. I wish to create two forums, one dedicated to Type II Diabetics and the other for Juvenile Diabetics. The forums will help all of us to share our experience, fears, issues faced, specialised treatment received and its effects, research and new technologies that we have come across, etc.
5. Apart from these reasons, our Diabetologist, who is a very senior medical practitioner, had also expressed her desire to have such a website for the juvenile diabetics in our area. Her wish was to have an online meeting place for these children, young adults as well as adults with Type I diabetes. She had also kindly consented to give expert medical advise at this site.

Through this website, Complete Diabetes Information, I hope to achieve all the above objectives in due course of time.
